Getting to the Brighton Centre for conferences and events

Attending a conference or event at the Brighton Centre? Here's a breakdown of your transport options, from driving and trains to private transfers, and how to get there without the stress.

The Brighton Centre hosts some of the biggest conferences and events on the south coast, from political party conferences to industry events like brightonSEO, university graduations, and live entertainment. If you’re attending one, getting there stress free is half the battle.

Here’s a breakdown of your transport options and how to pick the right one for your trip.

Where is the Brighton Centre?

The Brighton Centre sits right on the seafront on Kings Road, in the heart of the city. It’s well connected by road and rail, but parking in the area is limited and expensive, especially during large events.

The venue does not have its own car park.

Driving and parking

Brighton’s city centre streets are narrow, congested, and not designed for the volume of traffic that large conferences bring in. If you do drive, you’ll need to find parking nearby as the venue has no on-site parking.

The closest car park is Churchill Square, which is just behind the Brighton Centre on Russell Road. Spaces fill up fast during events though, and you can expect to pay upwards of £20 for a full day.

There’s also a Park & Ride option at Withdean Sports Complex just off the A27, where you can park for free and catch the 27 bus into the city centre. It works, but adds time and an extra connection to your journey.

If you’re travelling from outside Brighton, driving into the centre and circling for a parking space is rarely the best use of your time, especially if you need to be at a registration desk by a certain hour.

By train

Brighton station is about a 10 minute walk from the venue. If you’re coming from London, direct trains from London Victoria and London Bridge run regularly and take around an hour.

This is a solid option if you’re a solo traveller with light luggage. It gets less practical if you’re carrying exhibition materials, heavy bags, or travelling as a group with tight schedules.

By bus

Brighton has a good local bus network and most routes pass through Churchill Square, which is right next to the Brighton Centre. Useful if you’re already staying in the city, but not a realistic option if you’re coming in from Gatwick, Shoreham, or anywhere further out.

Book a private transfer

If you’re attending a conference or event at the Brighton Centre, a private transfer is the most reliable way to get there without the stress of parking, train delays, or dragging materials through the city centre.

Arman Cabs offers fixed fare transfers from across Brighton & Hove, Shoreham, and beyond. Your driver drops you right at the venue entrance on Kings Road, and you can book a return pickup for when your event finishes.

It’s especially useful if you’re:

  • Arriving from outside Brighton and don’t want to deal with city centre parking
  • Carrying equipment, exhibition materials, or heavy luggage
  • Travelling as a group and want to split the cost of a single vehicle
  • Flying into Gatwick and heading straight to the Brighton Centre
  • On a tight schedule and can’t afford delays

Conference and event travel tips

Book transport the same day you book your tickets. During big events like political party conferences or brightonSEO, taxis and transfers get snapped up quickly.

If you’re staying overnight, many central Brighton hotels are within walking distance of the venue. But if you’re in a hotel further out or arriving on the day, a pre-booked transfer saves you the morning scramble.

Ask your event organiser about delegate travel recommendations. Some conferences have negotiated rates with local transport providers.
